6.-8. Juni 2007. Präsident Bush und seine Frau Laura trafen am Abend des 5. Juni in Heiligendamm ein. Präsident Bush nahm dort vom 6.-8. Juni 2007 am G8-Gipfel teil. Die Regierungschefs Frankreichs, Großbritanniens, Italiens, Japans, Kanadas und Russlands nahmen zusammen mit der deutschen Gastgeberin, Bundeskanzlerin Merkel, ebenfalls am Gipfel teil. Die Europäische Union war auch vertreten. Die führenden Politiker sprachen über ihre andauernde Kooperation bei einer Reihe internationaler Themen in den Bereichen Wirtschaft, Sicherheit und Politik.
